The four-cylinder managed to cover 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds, a good showing for a base engine.
It is ultra-smooth M Sport brakes that stopped the car from 60 mph in just 108 feet, an admirable result for a midsize luxury sedan. The steering is nicely weighted. Hence, the chassis is both balanced and communicative.

The only thing the AMG Line package doesn’t touch is the engine of the V-Class. That said, the V-Class still has plenty of engine options to choose from, beginning with a 2.1-liter four-cylinder that’s been used on a number of Mercedes models already.
Mercedes made the necessary tweaks to get it up to the standards of the V-Class, resulting in variety of output numbers, beginning at 136 horsepower and 244 pound-feet of torque for the V 200 CDI, 163 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque for the V 220 CDI, and 190 horsepower, and 325 pound-feet of torque for the range-topping V 250 BlueTEC.
It come with an ECO Gear six-speed manual transmission.
The 5 Series is a supremely comfortable car, especially with the optional multi-contour front seats. With impressed with the ride quality — it’s comfortable and relatively plush yet well damped so it doesn’t feel floaty. And while there’s a mild amount of road noise that creeps in, but there was no wind noise and the engine was barely audible when cruising.
